“How many times have you wondered why Emiratis wear Henna, or a veil? Why do they sit in a Majlis? Why do they adorn black Abayas? How about the origins of the pearl diving trade in the UAE? These are just some of the questions which expats living in Dubai often ask, but more than often can’t seem to get the right answers to.
This half-hour, presenter-led, cultural show seeks to create greater awareness about what it means to be an Emirati, exploring Emirati traditions and the local language and heritage. Each episode will focus on a different topic related to Emirati culture, and will host discussions with locals. These encounters will shed light on the topics at hand. Shot outdoors, the show’s presenters will visit sites and places in and around Dubai… to unearth Dubai’s past, and envision its future.”
